First preschool complaint

Mini#2 is now terrified of leprechauns. He came home from preschool today and is looking everywhere for leprechauns in the house and asking me if we have any? I made the mistake of saying "Not too many" thinking he would think it was funny. He didn't. I had to go with him to my bathroom to check for leprechauns! He made his brother go with him in his room to also check for little men in green suits. I am anxiously awaiting the teacher's daily email to see what the heck they did today at school. And then try to figure out how he became scared of these little Irish gentlemen. I think he's thinking they look like this picture I found! It's made for a funny day anyway. As I type I just heard him say "Shawn, Shawn the leprechaun. Come out wherever you are!" Oh my.....

Don't let him see that scary photo!!

My mom went to Ireland a few years ago and brought back a book about leprachaun tales for mini #1. She didn't read it before purchasing it and when I started reading it to him, I was shocked at how mean the leprachauns in the stories were! Mini #1 actually liked the book, but it wasn't your typical naughty leprachaun tales...they were actually mean little boogers.

I guess I missed that leprechauns were "often sneaky and mischievious" as his teacher emailed us. I guess they talked about them today, went to music class and sang songs and upon returning to their classroom, "a leprechaun" had made a "mess" in the room while they were gone. I guess it was to be entertaining, but mini#2 must think they're real. He's ok now. I think!

momx2- your book story is funny. My parents visited Ireland a few years ago, but brought #1 a green hat/scarf that both still like to wear.

I can totally see why your son feels that way - clowns, dolls, the OLD NAVY mannequins!,...they all freak me out.

My 18 y/o saw a you tube video entitled the creepy gnome just last year and he is still bothered by the thought of it. Too many bad movies. ;)
