I'm Important...

...to my first grader's teacher anyway. I've been asked to represent her class for the Spring Carnival. I get to create a basket for the raffle, with the help of other parents, with a "gardening" theme. Then I get to delegate parents to bring or do something for the carnival. Now this is a first for me (heading something up for school; not participating) in his elementary academia.
I'm happy that I was asked. However, that may be because I'm radiating joy due to my fresh highlights received about two hours ago. I'm happy about just about anything right now. Empty wallet (ironically, also 2 hrs ago) excluded.

But, just because I'm blonder does not mean I lost a few brain cells. I could have been the 3rd, 4th, 5th parent she asked, but I don't think so. I could experience future frustration because lame parents won't want to participate, but I hope not. I could end up totally stressing over a basket, but..... oh heck I know I will. Wish me luck!

Thanks for stopping by! As a former teacher, I can honestly say that your son's teacher is thanking her lucky stars that you said YES!

PS - your minis are SO freaking CUTE!

When we moved to the burbs a few years ago I got involved in a local woman's club. I somehow got roped to being on their benefit committee, then on the auction committee, then I chaired the benefit the next year. I have one of those personalities that cannot say no. So I feel your pain. If you have a garden shop nearby that people like to shop at, consider asking the owner/manager for a gift certificate. You can add that to a basket with gardening tools, a cute flower pot and some seed packets, etc. Maybe some gardening clogs. Your possibilities are endless and I'll bet you are good at that sort of thing anyway (which is why the teacher probably asked you!). Post a pic of the basket when you're done!

ladybug- thanks. I think they're kind of cute myself.

Momx2- Yes, in Sept I helped organize our 1st annual neighborhood block party. Fun, but time consuming. We got a lot of local businesses to donate gift cards, freebies, etc. I'll try that with our local home and garden store for this task. Thanks for idea. Also, someone told me I should buy a planter and fill that. May try that, too.
