Can it be?

Can it be? He's 25? Happy Birthday Prince Harry- the "ginger" Prince or the "spare heir" to the throne of England. He was just shy of 13 when he lost his beautiful mother. I remember feeling so sorry for him that year because my mom also lost her mom at age 12. It's had to have been just as tough on him to continue on without a mom's guidance (as with my mom). He's grown into quite the charismatic young man though. I think it's because he's never had the pressure his older brother has. Nonetheless, I'm sure Princess Diana would be proud of both of her (preppy)sons. I just can't believe he's 25 today!

Can it be that this man is gone? I really ached when I heard the news that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May '08. My mother-in-law had just finished chemo/radiation and had the Whipple procedure surgery (AWFUL huge surgery) for pancreatic cancer and was staying with us when I heard. She passed away 16 months after diagnosis in January of this year and he also had it for 16 months (which is considerally long for this fast spreading cancer). I can't help but think of all of his great parts he played that will live on with us. He was so likable wasn't he? He will be missed!

My husband's cousin was also diagnosed with this type of cancer in January of 2008. He fought a brave battle for 6 months and died on my husband's birthday in June 2008.

The news about Patrick Swayze made me so sad. He seemed like a gem of a guy.

Prince Harry is hot. Hot. hot. hot. Adore his devil-may-care attitude.

I laughed when I saw what book you're reading. Those books are like literary junk food, are they not? Like you just crave more but you know it's so bad for you.

Makes life seem so hopeful and fleeting at the same time. I remember when I saw PS for the first time in John Jake's North and South. He was one of the main characters, Orry Main and I knew from his muscular, ummm, hind quarters, that he must be a dancer and lo and behold. Seemed like such a nice person, always. Loved his slight Texan twang.

Suburban- sorry about your husband's cousin. 6 months was fast! :(

Cricket- It does make you realize you're getting older doesn't it, but these celebs in their 50's dying is just too young isn't it?

Tippy- PH is HOT! And so are the Twilight books. :)

Pink Martini- I loved North and South miniseries and remember PS as Orry Main very well. Hot! I liked his squinty smile.
