What did he just say?
I just overheard mini#2 say to mini#1, "Great. Now I have swine flu because you licked me." Cracked me up. Can you tell we're talking more about germs and washing hands a lot these days? Seriously though. I heard a doctor on the news say to wash your kids' hands for them (no matter if they're old enough) when they get home from school. Keep wipes/gels in the car and just make this an everyday thing. I have been more lenient in the summer, but swine flu is a scary thing so we're back to being cautious. What are you doing these days?

Sick with the flu, one week of school and my girls caught it!! We were lucky to catch right away and are on Tamiflu. Scary thing was one just had a stuffed up nose and low grade fever..the other zero symptoms. Yet both tested positive for it. It is going around like crazy here. I have a couple of friends with it too!!
xxxx me
We try to wash our hands everytime we come into the house. I, too, am more lenient in the summer for some reason. I carry gel & wipes in my purse, wipe down the grocery store carts, stuff like that. The high school in our town supposedly has 17 cases of swine flu right now. Kind of scary.
I am *trying* not to freak out about this, but with a 2mo baby, I am a little. We have appts already for all of us (except the baby) to get our regular flu shots at the end of this month. The swine flu vaccine will be available in October and I'm in the top priority group since I have a newborn under 6mo of age. I will be getting it. And if they have the preservative-free version of the swine flu vaccine, I will have my boys get it as well. Ugh. I am really worried mostly about the baby.
Our family is going to Tahoe after New Years and my husband and I just made the decision that the baby and I will stay home and he'll take the boys. With her not being old enough to get vaccines, the last thing I want to do is take her in airports and on planes in the height of the sick season. It sounds a little overkill, but that's what we've decided.
Plus, it's vacation with my MIL, so, ya know...
D.D.- that's scary. My son just developed a stuffy nose, too. Yikes!
Debra- I wash my shopping carts, too.
Tippy- Don't blame you for changing travel plans! I need to call my dr. to see if I can schedule shots this early, too!
I though swine flu was a Y2K exaggeration. Not so sure! I love what you overheard though!
Washing, washing, washing...my knuckles are raw. Could you imagine if S caught this with his asthma and respiratory history? I shudder. Hopefully this will all pass soon.
Miss you!
Belle
